Acuity is cyber-secure by government standards, ensuring that online brokers and investors can continue to use us with confidence.
We are pleased to announce that Acuity has achieved ‘Cyber Essentials’ certification.
The Cyber Essentials certification scheme is a UK government-backed framework supported by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). Being certified with NCSC’s Cyber Essentials means that Acuity’s systems and operations are protected by an industry-leading set of cyber security standards.
“The Cyber Essentials certification revolves around making our set of users and network devices hermetic to exterior unwanted attack or infiltration,” explains Acuity’s own Loïc Alexandre Chevalier.
Loïc headed up the implementation of Cyber Essentials across Acuity Trading. Under his leadership, the team took each of the exacting steps necessary to reach this goal.
“We have audited all the devices that have access to the network, updated our security authentication process to networking devices and web platforms, and segregated authorisation access to different service and device permissions,” says Loïc, detailing a few of the processes his team completed. He adds that they also successfully developed processes for “monitoring and setting up alerting functionalities in our environments.”
The risk of common cyber threats, such as phishing attacks, malware, and hacking attempts is significantly reduced with these Cyber Essentials controls implemented. The controls also give Acuity the ability to handle any sensitive information from online brokers, financial market professionals, and investors with NCSC-approved data protection measures in place.
