I designed the first prototype of the Sentiment Analysis Engine (SAE) for Acuity back in 2016. Over the years, SAE has grown significantly in scope and capability, thanks to the dedication and expertise of my talented data science students, who now form the core of Acuity’s Data Analysis team.  

Today, I serve as a Data Science Expert Advisor for the company, where my responsibilities include proposing innovative models for sentiment analysis and identifying novel applications of sentiment data in the financial industry. In addition to my role at Acuity, I am an academic researcher at the Polytechnic University of Catalunya (UPC). I take great pride in acting as a bridge between academia and industry, facilitating the transfer of cutting-edge knowledge and methodologies.  

I am also committed to nurturing the next generation of data scientists by supervising apprenticeships that contribute to Acuity’s data science projects. Many of these apprentices go on to become integral members of Acuity’s Data Science division in Barcelona, driving innovation and ensuring the company remains at the forefront of financial technology.

Turning data into meaningful change for a better world

As a Data Scientist, I am currently using data to provide AI based decisions on the market and testing our data capabilities with real problems. Mostly using Python and SQL to solve the problems with libraries such as Pandas, Numpy, LightGBM and Backtrader.
